Flat Roman Shade using the Pro Design Wand Control Motor Kit Lift System

I fell in love with this color and pattern—so much, that it became my inspiration for branding my business! This home decor fabric, purchased at Jo-Ann Fabrics, was used in my granddaughter’s bedroom. This pattern is described as a geometric, arabesque or a Moroccan trellis. The fabric is a cotton/poly blend but has a “linen look.” It was very easy to work with, light-weight and made a very interesting roman shade.

This shade has mitered corners, which I have to admit, kicked my tail! I have since used the mitered corner in other projects and love using this extra detail. Even though it’s not a detail that you see from the front of your treatment.

I take so much pride in my work, because it is important to me to design and sew soft furnishings that are pleasing to the eye, functional and comfortable.

When I plan a project for myself, I try to think about what my needs are, how we plan to live with this new project, and, (my personal pain-point!) how easy will it be to keep clean. Can my kids or animals destroy it? If so, how soon and what can I do to minimize the damage! I try to bring this mindset into my workroom for my clients, as well.

I know there are others out there just like me, that want beautiful fabrics in their home. I would love the opportunity, through this blog, for you to get to know me. I can't wait to share past projects with you and tell you about the successes, pitfalls or the projects that I love, but would do differently next time!
